CURRENT SITUATION AND PERSPECTIVES OF INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE. CONFERENCE CYCLE

VIII CYCLE OF CONFERENCES ON ACTIVITY AND PERSPECTIVES OF INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE

On October 29th, the VIII cycle of conferences on the History of Commerce and Industry of Salamanca, organized by the Museum of Commerce and the Interuniversity Program of Experience (Pontifical University of Salamanca), will begin.

The 6 scheduled conferences, fifty minutes long, will review various economic aspects of Salamanca and its province from a historical perspective. The sessions will last for two weeks, on October 29th, 30th and 31st and November 5th, 6th and 7th, and will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Museum of Commerce (Avda. de Campoamor s/n). Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

The program is as follows:

October 29th. Juan Antonio Frías, (Bejaranos Studies Center): Paper manufacturing in the Salamanca mountains.

October 30th. Carlos García Medina, (ethnographer): Muleteering in the western area of the province of Salamanca.

October 31st. Josefa Montero García, (Secondary Education professor): “The music market in the documentation of the Salamanca Cathedral Archive”.

November 5th. Alberto de Miguel Hidalgo, (University professor of Financial Economics and Accounting, USAL): The effect of the economic crisis on companies in Salamanca.

November 6th. Jesús Málaga Guerrero, (doctor and politician): Salamanca at the beginning of the 20th century.

November 7th. Javier Ramón Sánchez Martín, (professor and director of the Higher School of Industrial Engineering of Béjar): The Industrial Heritage of Béjar. State of the art.
