In an impossible twist of time, after 500 years, Francisco de Vitoria believes he has finally concluded his great legal and moral treatise for the conquest of America: De Indis. Convinced of having brought order to the world, he decides to do what any responsible citizen would: go to the Land Registry to register it for the use and enjoyment of all humanity. But something doesn't fit into his plans.
Among windows, forms, and official stamps, the friar discovers that today's bureaucracy bears great similarities to the procedures for the inspection and recognition of new territories. While he tries to demonstrate that his work defends the dignity of peoples above all else, a couple of disenchanted officials, trapped in an eternal procedure, push him to confront an uncomfortable question: can justice be born from the very paper that certifies ownership?
