Created in Madrid in 2018 and composed of Marta Peño and Luis Rodríguez (violins), Arnold Rodríguez (cello) and Mario Oltra (viola), the Iberia Quartet has participated in international festivals in cities such as Salzburg, Würzburg, Weikersheim, Paris, Montreal, Venice, Milan or Lucca. Nationally, in Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Burgos, León or Santander. It is also part of several European quartet institutions such as ECMA, Le Dimore del Quartetto and ProQuartet, being one of the 38 quartets selected in the European project Merita.
They have been awarded prestigious prizes such as the first prize in the XI "Antón García Abril" International Chamber Music Competition, the first prize in the 26th Josep Mirabent i Magrans Chamber Music Competition of Catalonia, or the Honorable Mention in the Zukungsklang Award 2022 Stuttgart. Since early 2022, the Iberia Quartet has been the resident quartet of the Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid and members of the Royal Menéndez Pelayo Society, founded in 1918. They play modern instruments from Cremona (Pascal Hornung, Diego Taje and Martin Gabbani) and an 18th-century violin of unknown maker from Mittenwald.
The quartet will perform the program titled Traditio, consisting of works by L. Boccherini, J. Haydn and L. van Beethoven.
